Survival a 18 hour flight with the children

Long flights can be boring and with kids coming along, they can also be stressing both for you and your children. And it does not actually matters whether it is eighting hours flight or just two hours. Wanna share with you my experience of such flights!
Bring a backpack. Bring a backpack for children to put stuff that they will be needing during the flight. Don't put too much stuff because then it will take too much space! Put stuff like notebooks, coloring books, story books, art boxes, DSI's and stuff like that.Get through security. Security might be a frightening place for the younger children. Let the older children help too.Board early. Try to board early because then it will be easy for your children to be settled. If you have 3 or more children who are older than the age of 2, your family won't be together. Put the older children next to younger children OR put the younger children with you and the older children in other rows.Bring feeders or sippy cups for the babies and toddlers and gum for the older children to protect their ears.Find good activities. Find good activities for the children like playing with an iPad. Make sure you put the iPad on airplane mode before take off. Also make sure you fully charge it before the flight. Don't pull your iPad out until take off. There are also activities like playing with the DSI, coloring, drawing and reading. Also try playing with the screen on the back of the seat in front of you.Gaze through the window. Look at the clouds and have fun!Bring snacks so your children aren't hungry. Hope i have helped you!Have fun! Just have fun and it will be all right. :cheer:

you  know i do not like

you  know i do not like traveling at all and that is why for me long  flight is a real disaster and i cannot imagine myself doing it.  but still I understand that sometimes you can not choose and that is why you have to do it and   in any case you have to survive. i think that it depends on the person much. there are a lot of people who really enjoy  long  flight because they like doing nothing and for them  it is not a problem to sleep in the plane.  for me it is a real  problem. i can fly for  2 or 3 hours but not more.   of course it is easier when you are travelling not alone because   you may always talk to someone or anything like that.  and it also  depends on the class you are  flying . if it is a flight in the business class then it is  perfect.

Survival a 18 hour flight with the children

Good evening, Happy Daddy, I really liked you username, it sounds so funny..! Okay, so you have had such experience.. yeah, that is difficult not only for parents of a kid... It is tiring and difficult for cabin crew, who will have to take care of your little one, entertain him and try to keep him calm, because it is what they have to do...they are about the comfort and safety, and of course, lots of passengers onboard will not be very happy to hear noises all around and be disturbed from the night sleep... so my main point is that traveling long distances with a baby is tiring and challenging!

Good time of the day.. I see that someone here is really worried about having the long-haul flight with a baby...! Gosh, that is probably really amazingly (if you can say so) difficult... in my point of view, it will be of a great distraction for all passengers, because if your kid is really energetic, so then he will just talk loud, laugh loud...and this i so annoying, to speak honestly! yeah, as a stranger, as a normal regular passenger who is relly tired and wants to have rest before the long and responsible business meeting - that is just crazy...really not happy to have a kid on the flight.

18 hours flight

Nooo waaaay....that is just insane! How can parents  take little kids onboard for the ultra-long flight which takes around eighteen hours?! In my point of view, this is bad not only for bored and tired children who do not even know what is better for them to do, but also for other passenger on the plane, who will probably suffer from the noise kids will make....but the advice to board early because then it will be easy for your children to be settled is great! 3 or more children who are older than the age of 2, your family won't be together. Make sure the child will behave properly.

Well, that can be definitely the challenge.. do not you think so?! I am afraid to think about the time when I will be flying somewhere very very far away and will be sitting next to the two years old kid for example...Gosh, that is probably really really hard to survive...! I am really would be angry at everybody around be, because how come is that when you have the opportunity to rest, sleep and have a nice time in the flight (at least try to, because that is difficult for the eighteen hours flight), and here is the little bomb, which is just crying all the time, of freaking bored so do stupid things sitting right next to your left hand...

Ohh, woow ,that is going to be the challenge...frown indeed, if you are not worried because of the traveling for a long distance for your little one, taking into account that eighteen hours is almost the whole day..! just afraid to create the image of what I am going to see in the flight, sitting next to the child for such a long damn time...awful...but, anyway, as for the main thing here - just be sure to have the nice rest before and of course - during the flight...and the entertaining of the kid is fully lays on you, because the cabin crew members are really very busy during such a long flight, they are gonna be super tired..

Survival a 18 hour flight with the children

Hi guys ... oh, that's a story ... It all sounds pretty simple and attractive, interesting, the reality is also so simple, the main thing is to prepare well and everything, fly and rest) I do not think that's exactly so, especially if not one child , I watched the film at Home Alone, it's not at all easy to assemble in flight))))laugh But I do not have experience with children, but I think adults in such a flight will certainly be exhausted, especially if the flight will be long. But still, I would most likely take places in the first class, for the whole family, because it's simply impossible to sleep in the economy class, at least I can not sleep properly there) Thanks for this detailed story about the gatherings! Super!)

Hey guys, hello. Traveling with children by plane is a pleasure ... I'm kidding of course, who have children that will understand me) I love my son very much, he is everything to me in this life, well, of course my parents and my dog))) But the flight to 18 hours will be difficult to overcome with a young child and stay in high spirits))) as I mentioned, I often move around the world in connection with competitions, and drive my son with me, and the flight to Australia was something, my little son capricious and did not allow me to rest and neighbors, I did my best to entertain him about and distract, it is good that he slept most of the flight time.frown

Travel experience with kids is always unpredictable, especially long distance travelings. I think it is highly important to be positive and not complain that it will be exhausted for you. I noticed that story by HappyDaddy is about happy flight and it is no because of well-planed flight, that is bacuse he is happy to travel with his kids. I would like to add that general impression from your flight can't depend only on your mood, it also depends on how other passenger will treat to your children. Sometimes, other people can begin to tell to your children some stories and they even will not notice how fast time can fly. I like this story because of its optimistic attitude to traveling with kids.
